These terms apply whenever you use moneyactually.co.uk ("Money Actually," "we," "us"). By using the site, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, the simplest thing is not to use the site.
Who we are
Money Actually is a UK personal finance content site. We explain how things like budgeting, pensions, mortgages, ISAs and insurance actually work, in plain English.
This is educational content, not financial advice
Nothing on this site is personalised financial advice. We explain how things generally work: we don't tell you what to personally do with your money, and we're not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to give regulated financial advice.
If you need advice specific to your circumstances, speak to a regulated financial adviser. Free, impartial guidance is also available from MoneyHelper.
Accuracy of information
We do our best to keep figures, rates and thresholds current, and we date and review our explainers. But tax rules, interest rates and financial thresholds change, sometimes at short notice, often around the tax year or a Budget. Always check current figures before relying on anything here for a decision that matters.
If you spot something that looks wrong or out of date, please tell us; we'd rather fix it than leave it.
Our calculators
The calculators on this site (Mortgage, Investment, Pension, Stamp Duty, Debt Payoff, Salary) give estimates based on the figures you enter and published rates at the time of writing. They're not formal quotes, and they're not a substitute for advice from a lender, adviser, or HMRC. Each calculator states what it doesn't account for, worth reading before you rely on the result.
Affiliate links and how we make money
Some links on this site may be affiliate or referral links, meaning we could earn a commission if you use them, at no extra cost to you. Where this applies, it'll be clearly disclosed on the page. Commercial relationships never influence what we recommend or how we rank anything; see our FAQ for more on this.
Where a page shows provider comparisons marked as a preview or "pending authorisation," those sections are not live — they contain no real providers, rates, or working links, and exist to show how the section will look once we hold the relevant permissions.
Intellectual property
The content on this site, text, design, calculators, graphics, belongs to Money Actually unless stated otherwise. You're welcome to link to our pages or share them. You're not permitted to copy, republish, or reproduce our content elsewhere without asking us first.
Acceptable use
Please don't use this site to do anything unlawful, to attempt to disrupt or interfere with how it works, or to scrape or systematically extract content without permission.
Liability
We provide this site on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, reliance on its content, or from any decision made using our calculators. This doesn't affect any rights you have that can't be excluded under UK law.
Third-party links
Where we link to other websites, we're not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Once you leave our site, their terms apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example, as the site grows or as regulations change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the update.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, regardless of where you're accessing the site from.

This page is a general template and hasn't been reviewed by a solicitor. It's a reasonable starting point, not a substitute for proper legal advice; worth having a solicitor check it over before you rely on it, particularly once affiliate links, paid products, or user accounts are actually live.
